What we do

Lab Tours
We aim to offer lab tours at top universities, providing students with exposure to academic research environments. Students who attend lab tours can apply for research positions with professors at institutions such as UC Berkeley, UCSF, and Stanford.

Lab Fundamentals Training
The program aims to prepare students to acquire lab skills for internships or employable skills in general. The course was developed by UC Berkeley professors and educators, with input from IRIS, as a molecular biology experimental primer that covers lab basics, including microbiology, molecular biology, research methods, safety practices, experimental design, and demonstrations of basic lab techniques.

Internship opportunities and matching
Motivated student researchers can apply for lab internship positions, gain invaluable experience through wet lab research, and contribute to the group’s research initiative. IRIS has recruited several professors willing to accept high school students to conduct research during the summer and throughout the school year.
STEM seminars
We aim to invite professors, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students to share their research projects and insights on their field, as well as present their latest research findings. We hope that by hosting seminars and other events, we can help cultivate an interest in their fields or deepen their passion for a specific field of work. Students selected for internships may also present their projects in seminars.
