What we do

Lab Tours
We want to provide lab tours at top universities to gain exposure to academic research environments, students who attend lab tours can apply for research positions with professors at schools like UC Berkeley, UCSF, and Stanford.

Lab Fundamentals Training
The program aims to prepare students to acquire lab skills for internships or just skills in general. The course was developed by Berkeley professors and educators with input from IRIS as a molecular biology experimental primer, covering lab basics. From microbiology and molecular biology, research methods, safety practices, experimental design, and demonstrations of basic lab techniques.

Internship opportunities and matching
Motivated researchers can apply for lab internship positions, gain invaluable experiences such as wet lab research, and contribute to the group’s research initiative. IRIS has recruited several professors willing to accept high school students to conduct research during the summer.
STEM seminars
We aim to invite professors, postdocs, and graduate students to share their research projects and insight on their field and to present their latest research projects- We hope that by hosting seminars and more, we can help cultivate an interest in their fields, or hone even greater passion for certain field of work. Students selected for internships may also present their projects in said seminars.
